April / May 2019 Fishing Report

On the warm overcast days trout have been surface feeding on a variety of hatching insects.
The fishery has had some amazing hatches of buzzers and hawthorn flies are also showing.

In bright conditions fish have been caught deeper in the lake.

Mr. J Twine, of Liskeard, landed a good five fish bag for 10lb 14oz. The largest rainbow of the bag tipped the scales at 3lb 11oz and the bag was taken on black buzzers.
Mr. S Newman, of London, landed four rainbows for 9lb 6oz fishing a bloodworm type pattern and a green and white lure.
Professor Harrop, of Looe, landed the largest rainbow so far this month at 4lb 2oz which was tempted by a dry daddy. Professor Harrop also landed two other rainbows on a Diawl Bach to give a three fish bag of 7lb 10oz.
